It’s time to bring back the mustache! The RAMSES International Group, Drive For Men’s Health, The PUR Clinic, and Florida Polytechnic University are all starting the conversation to raise awareness for men’s health – specifically prostate and testicular cancer. How, you ask? By participating in the popular Movember movement.
As you may know, November has been “coined” the month of mustaches, hence: Movember. Movember is a global men’s health charity where men grow mustaches and women support their men! (Because what’s more manly than facial hair?) To participate, you must be clean shaven at the start of November. You can join the official movement and find out more online here: http://us.movember.com/
In support of Movember and to kick off the month, the pioneers at RAMSES (The Robotic Assisted Microsurgical & Endoscopic Society) participated in a Shave-Off at their annual conference. The first blade stroke was even performed by Dr. Sijo Parekattil, the Co-Founder of The PUR Clinic, using the da Vinci XI surgical robotic platform!
A couple of the guinea pigs included Dr. Randy Avent, President of Florida Polytechnic University, and Dr. Jamin Brahmbhatt, Co-Founder of The PUR Clinic. Judging the contest was Lance Sewell, CFO of the South Lake Hospital. Want video evidence?
