Father’s Day is right around the corner, yet this can be a difficult time for those who struggle with male infertility.
As you may know, infertility is defined as – and determined by – the inability to impregnate a woman within a year (without the use of birth control methods during intercourse). But what you may not know is that within the mentioned time frame, about 15% of couples are typically unable to conceive, and it has been found that around one-third of such cases are due to male infertility. Interestingly, in just about 50% of infertility instances, the reasons for male infertility are unable to be determined.
That being said, some of the known causes of male infertility are:
- Blockage in the Male Reproductive System
- Various Medications
- Low Sperm Count
- Abnormally Shaped Sperm/Sperm that Move Incorrectly
- Undescended Testicles
- Infections
- Underlying Medical Conditions
However, one of the hardest aspects to overcome in male infertility is the general lack of awareness and understanding: Thus, the hosting of the Making Dads Fertility Telesummit.
From June 14th through the 19th, several of the leading experts regarding male infertility in the nation will be holding discussions to raise awareness and educate others on the condition. From information on male fertility to optimization, to the effects of cancer, stress, and even the emotions surrounding the issue – the experts will be addressing a wide variety of topics.
