In April or May last year I had a high PSA, it indicated that I perhaps had prostate cancer, I was referred to Sijo Parekattil, MD for follow-up. As one would imagine all sorts of questions and worries come to mind. I had my first visit and a biopsy was scheduled and performed. To my amazement there was no discomfort at all. My biopsy indeed revealed that I had cancer. A consult was held and my options were discussed, I made the decision to have my prostate removed. I checked in to the hospital on July 5th, the procedure was done, again no pain, no pain meds before or after the procedure. After a short 2 day stay I returned home with a bag of depends for the expected and forewarned incontinence. I had very little issue with that or the catheter, the idea was worse than the experience. To sum it up, it was a necessary treatment that was made as pleasant as it could be, I was treated with care and understanding. My doctor and his staff were great. I would highly recommend the robotic surgery that is offered at this facility and also highly recommend Sijo Parekattil, MD
