Are Reversals Possible / Is There a Point Where it’s Too Late?

March 1, 2016Jamin BrahmbhattNews & Updates

Find our more below about whether it is too late for a Vasectomy Reversal.

At The PUR Clinic, one of the areas in which we specialize is that relating to Vasectomy Reversals. Thus, we receive many questions about what we do and how. In particular, we are often asked if Vasectomy Reversals are possible and/or if there is a point where it is too late to undergo a Reversal.

Are Vasectomy Reversals Possible?

While there seems to be a lot of confusion when it comes to the subject of Vasectomies and Reversals, The PUR Clinic team believes in starting the discussion on men’s health issues and properly informing the general public. So, to answer the first question: Yes, Vasectomy Reversals are possible. It is true that a Vasectomy is intended to be a more permanent solution, but things can change.

Say a patient had gotten a Vasectomy because children were not an option with their partner, but later became a possibility with a new partner. It not be unheard of to consider a Vasectomy Reversal. However, there are a variety of options that should be taken into consideration. Helping patients to choose what is best for you and your partner is a priority for the team at The PUR Clinic.

Is It Too Late For A Vasectomy Reversal?

Now, whether or not it is too late to undergo a Vasectomy Reversal is another issue entirely. The answer to that question is no. Generally, the decision of getting a Vasectomy Reversal or not is dependent less upon the age of a man and more upon the age and/or fertility of his partner. For the most part, there is no such thing as it being “too late” to choose a Vasectomy Reversal. Even so, it can be a process to determine if a Reversal is the most viable and best option for a patient. Thus, it is important to discuss all of the possibilities with your doctor and partner.

The PUR Clinic is located at the South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida. We specialize in the areas of Vasectomies and Reversals, Chronic Testicular/Groin Pain, and Male Infertility.
